Communication n. 2

Collevalenza, 10 January 2022

The afternoon of January 9 and the morning of January 10 the assembly listened the report of Father General Aurelio Perez on the situation of each member, discipline and administration of our Congregation.

… Today we are here thanks to God, after the great travail of this pandemic, still ongoing, which we are experiencing around the world, and we want to raise our gaze to that light that we invoked with confidence on the feast of the Epiphany, celebrated few days ago, and which we invoke every day in the Eucharist and in the invocation of the Holy Spirit: a light that, we are sure, continues to guide our life in the midst of any darkness and trial.

The star that the Magi saw rising is the same light of mercy that we have seen born one day in our life, and which still precedes us and guides our journey, even though we warn. But at this moment we ardently desire that the star also rests on this Assembly of ours, as one day it rested on the grotto of Bethlehem“.

The report of the General Father reported the most significant and exciting moments of this last 8 years, lived also together with our sisters.

On the afternoon of January 10, we listened to the report of the general treasurer, Br. Alessandro Di Gerio on the report on the balance sheet and income statement of the Congregation. The report ended with a phrase of Don Tonino Bello: “Education in poverty is a difficult job: for those who teach it and for those who learn it. Perhaps it is precisely for this reason that the Master wanted to reserve the first beatitude for the poor, the truly poor”.

The general treasurer reminded us that: even in this six-year period “in a world that still knows hunger, we have lacked for nothing, because the Lord has multiplied for us the five loaves and two fish” (Jn 6:9).
