Brothers FAM
What is specific about these Brothers is the witness of brotherhood in Jesus Merciful Love that must reign in our communities, according to the Gospel word: “all of you are brothers” (Mt 23,8). His simple and humble life evokes the example of Nazareth, very important in these times when image, success, and recognition often count. Jesus expressed his love by becoming close to us, placing himself on our level, taking the condition of the suffering Servant, who gives life and even remaining among us in the form of bread.
The areas in which these Brothers develop their activity particularly are:
- Collaborate in all works of charity promoted by the Congregation.
- Education and training of youth.
- Collaboration with the Pastors. The Brothers can live together with the SDCV, to promote fraternal life in community and to help them in pastoral activities: youth ministry, the sick, the elderly, catechists, caritas and as extraordinary ministers of Communion.
- Tasks within the religious community. The Brothers can carry out jobs that the Mother considered essential for the good functioning and peace of the religious house: porters, sacristans, nurses …
- Some Brothers, for reasons of need, may be ordained deacons, after adequate preparation. It is preferable that this be done for a few, so as not to distort their identity as simple religious Brothers.
