FAM Brothers

The characteristic of these Brothers is the testimony of brotherhood in Jesus Merciful Love, who must reign in our communities, according to the word of the Gospel: “you are all brothers” (Mt 23:8). Their simple and humble life evokes the example of Nazareth, especially in these times when what often counts most is one’s appearance, success, and recognition. Jesus expressed his love by coming to us, putting himself on our level, taking the condition of the suffering Servant who gives his life, and even by remaining with us in the form of bread.

The specific areas in which these Brothers accomplish their activity are:

• Collaborating in the charitable works promoted by Congregation.
• Education and formation of the youth.
• Collaboration with the parish priests. The Brothers can live with the SDCV to promote the brotherly life in community and to help them in the pastoral activities: pastoral of the youth, the sick, the elderly, the catechists, caritas, and as extraordinary Ministers of the Communion.
• Tasks in the religious community. The Brothers can do work, which Mother Esperanza considered essential, for the proper functioning and the peace of the convent: porters, sacristan, male nurses…
• Some Brothers, for reasons of necessity, can be ordered deacons, after an adequate preparation. It is preferable that they be few in number, so as not to weaken the identity of the simple religious Brothers.
